“1. Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved. 2. For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge. 3. For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.
How does anyone submit themselves to the righteousness of God? Paul answers the question; his heart’s desire is that Israel would be saved. Many people today have a zeal for God, but its according to their righteousness, not God’s righteousness. When we look at man’s righteousness, what does the Bible tell us about that? Romans 3:10 “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:” A preacher once said that religion is like a rocking chair: it does a lot of moving and makes a lot of noise, but doesn’t go anywhere! Religion today is nothing more than man trying to put God in this can and make Him to be what they want Him to be. That’s not Biblical! God tells us that true righteousness only comes by faith in Jesus Christ, but yet religion around the world today try’s to proclaim their own righteousness. There is a sad day coming when churches around the world will stand before God and then be thrown into the lake of fire for ever, because they never preached about the blood of Christ being the only way to heaven. There is a lot of religion today that has a small resemblance of Jesus Christ in their church, just because there is a cross hanging doesn’t mean they’re preaching the truth. Religion cant be man’s righteousness, it has to be God’s righteousness. Its not about religion, but redemption and a relationship. Are you saved? Do you know Jesus Christ? If you haven’t accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour the Bible says your zeal for God is without knowledge. Jesus Christ is the only way! Trust in Him today! Romans 10:9,13 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
