“1. Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. 2. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 3. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: 4. For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.”
Why do so many Christians drive down the highway and instantly slam on the brakes when they see a blue light-bar on the side of the road? Or even make a quick movement to fasten a seat belt? Its amazing the amount of hunters that talk bad about the gamewarden, but in reality they never dealt with him or her. To many, the gamewarden is almost as a fallen angel, or even one who worships the devil in his or her free time. Its amazing how the Bible tells us so differently! The Bible says in Revelation 20:15 “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” Everyone is born into a sinful state, but believing and confessing that Jesus died, was buried, and rose again is the only way to heaven. Its understandable why people who don’t know Jesus as their Saviour would commit constant game violations; but Christians? Why do men and women of God constantly violate game laws? The Bible is telling us here that God has ordained powers to be. That would include gamewardens. God gave animals to man, and he also allowed higher powers (gamewardens) to rule over His creation. Yet, Christian hearts, skip a beat every time they encounter a gamewarden in the field: is it because they knowingly do wrong or have an intent to do wrong every time they step in the field? As children of God we must desire to live right and do good in every area of our lives, yes, that includes hunting. Christians need to be a testimony of Jesus Christ even to the gamewardens, but yet they continue to shoot deer from the road, shoot after legal hours, double bag on bucks, and many other evil acts. Look at vs 3 again “For rulers are not a terror to works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good,…..” If other hunters can abide by the rules why cant you? If you would pick up a hunting regulation book and read it, but not just read it, do what it says to do, you wouldn’t be so scared of the gamewarden. If your a blood bought child of God you need to stop ruining your testimony to the law enforcement community. Read the first 4 verses of Romans again! The reason you have so much trouble doing right is because your full of pride and self will, not God’s will! Romans 13:14 “But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.” If your not sure heaven is your home please visit our lost page or watch some of our hunting videos, but if your saved, stop living like your lost! Proverbs 16:18 “Pride goeth before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.”
