“8. He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail. 9. He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.”

The word vanity could also be defined as emptiness. What is the purpose of a sower? He would be one that spreads seed with hopes of a crop after the appropriate seasons have passed. What does it take to have a corn, bean, or even a hay field! That’s an easy answer! It would require sowing at the appropriate time of the year. When a sower puts the seed in the ground it doesn’t instantly sprout, it takes days or even weeks before the first sprout may be seen.  A Christian that chooses to live in sin may not see judgement right away, but it will come with time. The word iniquity means sin, unrighteousness, or wickedness. A Christian who sow’s iniquity, the Bible says will reap emptiness. Everything in their or your life will come to failure. Galatians 6:7-8 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.” What type of seed are you sowing today? Do you feel emptiness in your life? Do you feel angry at others when things don’t go your way? If you are born again, you should have a desire to live righteous! You should also have a desire to tell others about Jesus Christ! It doesn’t matter what anyone sees in your life, what does matter, is what is in your heart today. You may have not experienced too much emptiness or judgement yet, but just know that God’s Word has never failed, and He always corrects his children when they live for self. Turn your eyes upon Jesus! On the day of harvest what do you want to reap; corruption or life everlasting?
