“1. And an angel of the LORD came up from Gilgal to Bochim, and said, I made you to go up out of Egypt, and have brought you unto the land which I sware unto your fathers; and I said, I will never break my covenant with you. 2. And ye shall make no league with the inhabitants of this land; ye shall throw down their altars: but ye have not obeyed my voice: why have ye done this? 3. Wherefore I also said, I will not drive them out from before you, but they shall be as thorns in your sides, and their gods shall be a snare unto you. 4. And it came to pass, when the angel of the LORD spake these words unto all the children of Israel, that the people of the LORD lifted up their voice, and wept.”

Its amazing that God’s Word will never fail! In this context of scripture we read of how God has brought the children of Israel to their desired haven, just as He promised. The problem with Israel is that as they became blessed, they failed to follow all of God’s instructions. If believers are not careful, blessings can become a curse. In the low times of life our faith in God is unstoppable, but when the mountain tops of blessings begin, God’s Word becomes less important to us. In Judges 1 you will read the account of how Israel failed to drive out all the inhabitants of the wicked nations that God told them to drive out. You cant mix righteousness with unrighteousness. God is very serious about separation. Today, we see the movement of contemporary music and falling away of the King James Bible. Its because we have leaders and members of the church afraid to take a stand on what God says in His Word. Churches are closing more and more everyday because believers refuse to follow the simple truth of the scriptures. Israel began to inhabit the lands with these wicked nations and as a result they began to fall away from God and worship false idols. The book of Judges shows God judging them for their decisions contrary to His Word. Separation is so important in the Christian walk. You may think you will influence your lost friends, but they influence you more than you influence them. Today, our churches need to get back to the King James Bible and old fashion Christianity, not to be different than what others are doing, but to be Biblical. In Judges 1 Israel put the wicked nations to tribute rather than drive them out and it cost them great trials and tribulations. What kind of judgement will God bring in your life? He is a faithful God and He always judges sin! Romans 16:17 “Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.”
