“Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.”

The famous story of Daniel and the lions den. At this verse in the scripture, Daniel has been found guilty of obeying God rather than men. Fear causes a great destruction in the life of every believer. What is it that keeps you from serving God? Is it your friends? Your boss? Family? Deer season? God is faithful, and He will always deliver! There were some very evil rulers that hated the fact that Daniel was a man of God. When any believer begins to walk with God, you will soon realize that people will hate you without a cause. The evil rulers made the king believe he was higher than all and that no person could ask of anything from God or any man for thirty days. Not realizing that these men were out to destroy Daniel, the king signs the petition. These evil rulers quickly find Daniel praying to the God of heaven regardless of the petition and now he is being cast into the den of lions. King Darius is grieved at what he has done. He knew there was something special about Daniel! Daniel made it clear to everyone that no matter what happens, he will always serve God. Toward the end of this verse we find some very powerful words: “Thy God whom thou servest continually” and also “he will deliver thee.” What do people see in your life? Do they know you love Jesus Christ? As the world falls away from truth it is so sad to see believers in the condition their in! Loving God continually is the only way you we see impossible things done. Our God is a God of deliverance, but many believers don’t ever see His greatness because they bow out at the first sign of trouble. You cant serve God when you sit amongst the dirty jokes or even hang out at your buddy’s that’s always smoking and drinking. God still wants you to be a witness to the people around you, but its impossible to please God when you become part of the lost crowd, rather than walking with Him. Hunting or fishing on Sunday Morning is not a good way to serve God continually either. God has given us six other days to enjoy His wonderful creation; why is it always on Sunday too? There is one thing that is certain, life is tough and full of destruction. You may not be experiencing it now, but know that it will happen throughout your life. When it happens, will God deliver you? Daniel chose to serve God regardless of the outcome and guess what happened; He sat in a den of lions all night and never saw harm. God hasn’t changed, He is still the same God and He will still deliver you from the worry’s and struggles of life. God led the children of Israel across the Red Sea on dry land, He caused the walls of Jericho to fall down before the eyes of His people, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were never hurt in the fiery furnace, and He closed the mouths of the lions because He is a faithful loving God, full of deliverance. Do you trust Him? Do you believe that He is able? Matthew 22:37 “Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.” The scriptures prove that Daniel loved the Lord with all that he had, in fact, we are still reading about him today. What are people going to remember about you? Are you serving the Lord continually? Don’t be that Christian that never saw a Red Sea crossing or the mouth of lions closed during your lifetime. God is faithful and He is a God of deliverance! All those evil rulers were devoured by the lions after Daniels deliverance! Stop worrying about bad things happening in your life and just trust God with a continual service!
