“6. Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. 7. And Moses called unto Joshua, and said unto him in the sight of all Israel, Be strong and of a good courage: for thou must go with this people unto the land which the LORD hath sworn unto their fathers to give them; and thou shalt cause them to inherit it. 8. And the LORD , he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not neither be dismayed.”

Moses is coming to the end of his life. Israel has wandered in the wilderness for 40 years, but now, the great promise land is just ahead. As Moses passes the torch to Joshua, he leaves the nation with some very powerful words that we still need to apply in our lives today. Israel has many battles to face in order to inherit the promise land. They start with Jericho, then to AI, and many others after that. Many of us would like to have an easy walk as a Christian, but the truth is, its not easy. When you do God’s work, you must realize that there is a battle ahead, but the best news is that God has said “…he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.” God has great things in store for your life, but don’t expect to see any of it if you don’t get in the battle. You might be thinking “what battle?” Are you taking a stand on biblical truth? Are you warning your family and friends that if they don’t repent and believe that they will die and go to hell. Listen, the people you think are your friends will quickly reject you when they see you’re in love with Jesus Christ. Even your saved friends that coast through life will look at you and reject you when you devote your life to the Word of God and serving Him with all your heart. If your saved today, God wants you to get into the battle. He wants you to stand for truth and not go with the flow. He wants to put good people in your life that will help guide you in making spiritual decisions in your life. God wants His children to stand up and say ” I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ…”, or maybe to a friend, “hey, there are more important things in life than just hunting all the time”, or even, “I am not going to be a part of your filthy conversation”. Most Christians would rather choose to just go with the flow because they are more afraid of what people think, than what God knows. God is with you! He will give you strength to fight battles you never thought of fighting and He will reward you with victories that you never thought possible. God is faithful! Stop having a fear of being a Christian in public! The children of Israel inherited the promise land because they were faithful to God’s Word. When He said, “I will be with you” they believed Him. What blessings will you miss in life due to your fear? Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.”
