Have you ever been LOST?
Has there ever been a time in your life when you lost your sense of direction? That cold frosty morning on your way to the stand when your light goes out, or maybe you’re heading to the top of the ridge to hear that first gobble of the day when suddenly you realize you’re not headed the right direction. 
Frustration and maybe even fear grabs hold of you because you’re not sure where you’re going! Anyone who spends much time in the backwoods may experience this situation at some point in their life.
We are SEPARATED!
What about spiritually? Do you know what direction you are headed? If you died today are you 100% sure you would go to heaven? The Bible shows us in Romans 5:12 that we are all in darkness. “Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the world and death by sin, so death passed upon all men for that all have sinned.” Because of Adam’s disobedience, this world has become a very sinful place. The Bible says that we are separated from God because we are sinners just as Adam was. Romans 6:23 says that we have a punishment coming because of the sin we commit. “For the wages of sin is death…” A wage is something we earn. We deserve a place called hell because of our sin. We are separated! We all will die one day, but when we look at Adam’s sin he didn’t die physically when he ate the fruit God told him not to eat. He lived many years after he committed his sin. We can see here he died spiritually. We fall under the same judgment as Adam, a spiritual death. Romans 3:23 shows us that we fall short because of sin. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
There is HOPE!
So how do we get to heaven if we are all sinners? Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us.” You see, God did not make hell for us, but for Satan and his fallen angels. God loved us so much He paid for the sin himself. He became a man and died on a cross to pay for the sins of this world! The second part to Romans 6:23 says “….but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Everyone loves gifts and the only thing we need to do with a gift is receive it. Not knowing your way because of darkness can be a very scary feeling, but the Bible says in John 8:12 “Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” In Revelation 20:15 we can see there is a judgment coming. “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.” When you woke up this morning, did you have the Son shining in your life? Or was it dark?
How simple HEAVEN is!
Simple faith is what gets us to heaven according to the Bible. The lack of three simple things keep so many people out of heaven; Asking, Believing, and Receiving. The Bible says in Romans 10: 9, 13 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be SAVED.” And then you have to call. “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be SAVED.” The Bible says that salvation is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ! Friend, if you have never trusted Jesus Christ as your Saviour, you can do it right now where you’re at! Pray to God in your own words: repent that you’re a sinner, and tell God you believe Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead. The Bible says you shall be saved! Romans 10:10 “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
